Quade’s Babies by Brenda Jackson

11 Aug

Quade Westmoreland spent one steamy night with Cheyenne Steele, and then never saw her again. But when Cheyenne’s picture graces the cover of a pregnancy magazine, he hires an investigator to confirms his suspicions, then pays Cheyenne a surprise visit, determined to win her love and become a family.

Honestly, Quade’s Babies is not my favorite book by Brenda Jackson. I liked how Quade willingly stepped into his father role once he learned of the babies, but that was the only good thing about this title. This book is much shorter compared to the other novels in the Steele Series, and the majority of the book was dedicated to revealing their one night together, which felt more like back story than passion. This led little time for character development, and ultimately made their love seem unrealistic. Quade’s Babies felt rushed and unfinished.

If you are collecting the series, this novel isn’t bad for less than four bucks, but check out my review of Risky Pleasures and Irresistible Forces for a HOT Steele romance!

On another note, I have exciting news for me and you. I’m thrilled to announce that I received The Versatile Blogger award from Jen D. I’m so excited! Thanks Jen!!!

As for ya’ll, I’m revving up to have the BIGGEST giveaway I’ve ever had, so stay posted! Comment and let me know what your romantic turn offs are!

i agree that shorter romance novels don’t work so well for me, novellas and short stories are great from other genres of story telling, but it has to be a perfectly paced and REALLY well written romance to cover all the relationship issues, how they are solved, and how the H/H come to love each other and why they get a happy ending. that’s a lot to cover!

It sure is a lot to cover. You’ve hit it right on the nail Lusty Reader! This book felt like Brenda Jackson was rushed to produce another title. It is so unlike her usual work that I have come to love. I am currently reading her latest novel in the Steele series, Hidden Pleasures, and it is nothing like Quade’s Babies… thankfully. Thanks so much for stopping by Lusty!

Congrats on the award! Romantic turn offs for me would have to be “cheesiness” 😀 and when they try too hard to seem cool 8)

Thanks Anaiz! Trying too hard is definitely a turn off. I find it to be a little immature too.
