Winter In Paradise

Kimberly has won a free copy of Winter In Paradise! I will be sending the winner an email shortly for confirmation!

How would you feel if you woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare, a nightmare in which your loved one was freezing to death, only to realize that your lover is gone, and that your nightmare just might become a reality? That is exactly how this 36 PDF page short begins.

Major Kelly Andres awakes from her nightmare and realizes that her lover, Major Byron Grayson, has left their cave on a suicide mission to save their planet, a planet so cold that it clocks a temperature of sixty below zero. Upon realizing what Byron has done, Kelly, like any other woman on any planet, wants to break down and cry. But as an invasion approaches and with Byron out of the cave and in danger, only one thought enters Kelly’s mind: I’m coming for you, Grayson, and I’m going to kick your ass! Not only did Grayson disobey a direct order, but it is her direct order that he disobeyed. I would want to kick his butt all the way back home too!

This short has it all – adventure, romance, and really hot sex! I won’t give too many details away, but when Kelly and Grayson do make love, it is nothing short of earth shattering. Grayson’s “special ability” is able to sense Kelly’s every want and desire. Their love is a two way street. Kelly aims to please Byron just as much as Byron wants to please Kelly. Archer describes every detail, yet keeps the taste level very appropriate. When I was reading this short, I felt like I was a fly on the wall, like there is a hidden camera filming everything that is happening inside their cave. Kelly and Byron’s emotions are raw and honest and their conversations are intimate. You experience the good, bad and ugly of their relationship, which allows you to appreciate their struggles and triumphs all the more.

This short is fantastic (the book cover looks amazing too!!!), and thanks to T.C. Archer, I have a free copy to give away to one commenter. The winner will be announced on Monday!

Leave a comment to enter: How do you kick your loved one’s behind when they have disobeyed your instructions and have gotten themselves into trouble?

I’m a big fan of the ear pull + a stern “I told you so” myself. 🙂

No higher praise could be had than this:

When he’s bad, all I have to do is sit still and listen: he confesses whatever he’s done. The guilt that’s eating him is punishment enough, which leaves me free to cherish him all the more. How lucky I am.

What a great looking book, and a fabulous review.

Thanks Kimberly. I wonder… can you raise one eyebrow? When sitting there and listening to his confession, I imagine that the one eyebrow raise might come in handy. hahaha. There are so many times when that expression is appropriate!
