Catalyst is an amazing story. I must admit that I was a little scared when I read the blurb because this novel deals with blood play (also known as blood fetish), but as a romance reviewer of all genres, I took a chance on this title, and I am so glad I did.

Logan is a dom obsessed with blood, and after putting his last sub into the hospital, he is now seeking the help of a psychologist. Kasper is a well educated, people pleaser and also Logan’s new psychologist. As Logan seeks balance in his life and tries to recover from his traumatic experience, Kasper’s fantasies of losing control of his boring life begins to take over his mind. Logan and Kasper end up hooking up, and their doctor/patient relationship will never be the same.

K. Piet and S.L. Armstrong are phenomenal writers. After reading a few of their stories, I have come to realize that their novels are so thrilling because of deep character development. Logan and Kaper’s relationship is balanced with action as well as dialogue. We get to see the inner thoughts of Logan and Kasper in such detail that you become tangled into their minds. Love, curiosity, ethics, addiction, and honesty are major themes of this novel. Logan and Kasper are wonderfully flawed, masterfully developed, and take center stage in this story. This is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys reading BDSM novels. Don’t get scared away by the blood play. It enhances the novel as well as the character’s flaws to give us a realistic story about people who are battling personal addictions.
